Our Story.

The bar Marianne built — a San Diego original since 1947.

Marianne Profit, the female pilot who founded Aero Club Bar in 1947

THE BAR MARIANNE BUILT

In 1947, a local female pilot named Marianne Profit wanted a place close to the airport where she and her fellow pilots could enjoy a drink. They built the Aero Club — and the rest was history.

Aero Club reflects Marianne's love of flying. Much of the original decor is still alive in this iconic San Diego bar, from the model planes hanging overhead to the photographs lining every inch of wall.

Today we pour over 1,200 whiskeys, sling classic cocktails, and keep the beer cold and the pours stiff. No frills. No nonsense. Just the same dive Marianne would recognize if she walked through the door tonight.
